Bristol Public Library invites the community to discover the fascinating world of monarch butterflies and other pollinators during two special educational programs presented by Rayna Lambert, a Girl Scout Gold Award winner, on Wednesday, August 12.
At 2:00 p.m., children in kindergarten through sixth grade are invited to attend Mission: Monarch, an interactive program featuring a reading of Lambert's self-written and illustrated picture book, Mission: Monarch, created as her Girl Scout Gold Award project. Following the story, participants will enjoy a make-and-take craft and receive a packet of milkweed seeds to plant at home, while supplies last.
At 5:00 p.m., Lambert will present Monarchs on the Move, an educational program for ages 14 and older. This presentation will explore the vital role monarch butterflies and other pollinators play in our ecosystems and everyday lives, while encouraging participants to learn how they can help support these important species.
